Rural Spain has become fashionable. The sale of rustic properties in March marked levels not seen since spring 2007, reaching 16,378 operations, according to the INE. It is the fifth best monthly record in the historical series and raises the balance of the first quarter to 43,650 transactions, Platasol real estate attests to this. Professionals in the sector affirm that the rural world in Spain has become fashionable. Inflation, economic instability and the pandemic are some of the factors that have boosted the interest of investors and individuals in living or owning a rustic property. They seek more leisure and enjoyment of the countryside, as well as profitable businesses. And everything indicates that interest in the rural world in Spain will increase. On the one hand, because it offers interesting returns (of 5% or more), since the price of rural land remains very attractive and it is possible to exploit vegetable gardens, CO2 sinks or everything related to sustainability or organic crops. In addition, the European Union is increasingly interested in these types of exploitation, as well as in the granting of aid.
